Our Programming

Indoor Free Play

  • Develop children’s creativity and their imagination through free play and loose parts

  • Develop dexterity, and other physical attributes utilizing age appropriate activities

  • Encourages children to interact with the world around them through a theme-based curriculum

  • Help children conquer their fears and build their confidence

  • Teach children to work in groups to learn to share and resolve conflicts

  • Provide opportunities to develop decision-making skills

  • Drawing, coloring, painting, cutting, and gluing

Outdoor Free Play

  • Playing on playground equipment, climbing, swinging, and running

  • Encourage exploration of surroundings including parks, creeks etc.

  • Introduction to sports, wildlife, and organized group play

  • Experiencing all 4 season’s weather, temperatures, and seasonal activities

Circle Time

  • Fingerplays, chants, rhymes, songs, play rhythm instruments, read a story, and participate in movement and relaxation activities.

  • Group or Circle time provides a time for listening, developing attention span, promoting oral communication, and learning new concepts and skills.

Education Group Activities

Engaging in group activities is essential for early childhood education as it fosters social skills, teamwork, and communication among young learners. Activities such as circle time, collaborative art projects, and group storytelling not only enhance cognitive development but also encourage children to express their ideas and emotions. By participating in these activities, children learn to respect others' opinions and work together towards common goals, laying a strong foundation for their future learning experiences.

Support Our Children

Emotional

  • Support and develop the child’s self-esteem through showing affection. Hug, cuddle, read, and talk with them throughout the day

  • Encourage children to try new things

  • Creating opportunities for children to play with other children of varying ages

  • Discuss and share our emotions or feelings such as excitement, anger, frustration and distress.

Social

  • Focus on the child’s social development through group and 1 on 1 interactions.

  • The ability to communicate and share in experiences develops trust and the ability to understand each individual needs

  • Provide a safe place to express themselves physically, socially, and emotionally

Physical

  • In line with British Columbia’s Active Play Standards of Practice, a minimum of 60 minutes will be spent outside each day, weather permitting.

  • Gross motor development will include balance, coordination, and loco motor skills

  • Fine motor skills are developed through activities that include drawing, writing, zipping, gluing etc.

  • Both facilitated and unfacilitated play are part of the curriculum

Intellectual / Cognitive

  • Practice alphabet, counting, shapes and numbers utilizing age appropriate activities

  • Sing, dance, play and explore new places or things

  • Ask questions and provide choice

Language

  • Helping children make connections, understanding meaning, sharing feelings and needs, connecting with others, processing new information, solving problems, and understanding society's expectations

  • Share languages from other places​
